Hello! First of all I just want to apologize for the delayed feedback. I've just been extremely busy and haven't had much time to sit down and write out all of my thoughts regarding the STSM after receiving the full kit a little while ago, but I'm getting them all out now!
1) Installation Convenience-
Upon receiving the STSM, I noticed that the packaging was great. I loved the design on the outside of the box, and opening it was easy enough to do. After getting everything out of the box, I then proceeded to start the installation, and of course the first thing I did was look at the instructions. The instructions were very clear, but the first thing I decided to do was screw on the tire caps where they needed to go. This is where I ran into a problem. I attempted to use the included wrench to secure the anti-theft nuts, but I couldn't get a hold of the nuts because of the limited space of my rims. After bending the wrench to an angle (which actually took a significant amount of force), I could then affix the anti-theft nuts. I definitely think the wrench should come bent at an angle to make it easer to attach the anti-theft nuts. Anyways, after screwing on all of the tire caps where they needed to go, I got in the car and downloaded the app while I plugged the receiver into my trusty ZUS Smart Charger! After the app downloaded and everything was set up, I opened the app and proceeded to follow the set up prompts. Connecting the receiver to the sensors was easy, and everything was set up and connected in roughly 15-20 minutes.
2) App Problems-
Immediately after setup I noticed something strange. One or two of the sensors were taking much longer to make a reliable connection to the receiver as the others, and once they were all connected, their pressures and temperatures were vastly different than one another's. I figured this was because I just installed them a minute ago, so i buckled my seatbelt and went for a short drive. After arriving at the gas station about 3 minutes from me, I noticed that the readings were closer together in terms of range, but still way off. So then I jumped in the car and went for a longer 10-15 min drive to the grocery store, and by the time I got there they had pretty much fixed themselves. And wouldn't you know it: it turns out I had low pressure in my back right tire! At first I thought it was still calibrating itself, but I drove home and it still said "low pressure". So I grabbed the 'ole pressure measurer, uncrewed the cap, and sure enough, the STSM was right! Thanks to the STSM, I found out I had a flat-ish back right tire! However, moving on to the trip I just went on two days ago, all of the sudden while we were on the road, the back left tire disconnected and wouldn't reconnect. I wasn't about to stop to test different fixes (we were on a time schedule), so I continued on. But then, several minutes later, the same thing happened with the front right tire! They were working fine before, but now, no matter how long we waited, they just wouldn't reconnect. After arriving and restarting the car (in turn, restarting the receiver), they all connected again! This was my only major issue with the STSM/app so far.
3) User Manual-
I have to say, the user manual was very clear and concise. It has all the instructions listed in a step-by-step order, and they are very easy to understand. Due to the ease of reading and following the manual, I had the STSM set up in no time! I really don't have anything critical to say of the user manual itself.
4) What I Like-
I absolutely love having all of my exact tire pressures and tire temperatures readily available in the palm of my hand! There's nothing like knowing exactly what to do in the event of a flat tire. I also just really like the overall design. You would think that the caps would have to be bigger in order to do all of the things that they do, but that's not the case. The caps are small and out of the way, and the receiver has a nice stealth-black design to it that I really like. The beeper on the receiver is loud, so I can hear it even over loud music, and the lights are bright enough to see in the daylight (though I think there should be cut-outs above the LEDs on TOP of the receiver as well, to make them easier to see). Something I didn't really like about the receiver though is that I don't really have anywhere I can put it in my car where it would be out of the way. I wanted to stick it to my dashboard, but I didn't have anything I could stick it with. I think that maybe there should be an optional peice of double-sided tape included in the box for users who want to mount their receiver somewhere in their car.
Ultimately, I just want to say that I had a great experience with the STSM, and I thank the Nonda team for giving me the opportunity to test this awesome device! I have uploaded some screenshots below for reference, but I will upload some pictures of my car's STSM setup in a couple of minutes! Thanks so much!
